About the job

Own the development and deployment of robot-learning capabilities for high-mix manufacturing, from data collection and model training to reliable skills running on production lines.

What you'll do

  • Develop learned manipulation skills, beginning with machine tending and advancing toward dexterous wire manipulation.
  • Build data, training, and evaluation pipelines; use production data and failure analysis to improve robot performance.
  • Evaluate and post-train robot foundation models, plan research milestones, and help hire and mentor engineers.

What they ask for

  • Hands-on experience training and deploying learning-based manipulation on real robots, not only in simulation.
  • Experience with demonstrations or teleoperation, data pipelines, and hardware evaluation; track record on a robotics research or shipping team, including work led.
  • Experience with contact-rich or deformable-object manipulation; strong Python and a deep learning framework such as PyTorch or JAX, plus C++ and ROS 2 or similar.
  • Master's or PhD in a specified engineering, robotics, or computer science field, or equivalent research or industry experience; must meet the stated ITAR eligibility requirement.

Nice to have

  • Learned skills deployed in production or commercial settings; experience with dexterous hands, tactile sensing, or force-controlled manipulation.
  • Sim-to-real or simulation experience, publications or open-source work, high-mix assembly experience, or experience mentoring engineers.
