About the job

Design, analyze, prototype, and test mechanical and actuated systems for autonomous aircraft, while supporting integration and guiding other engineers.

What you'll do

  • Own mechanism design from concept through CAD, analysis, material selection, and drawing release; perform structural and kinematic calculations and preliminary FEA.
  • Prototype, test, and refine mechanisms, and support pre-production builds, integration, and ground and flight testing.
  • Collaborate across engineering teams, mentor junior engineers, and help set technical direction.

What they ask for

  • B.S. in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering.
  • 10+ years in mechanical or mechanism design.
  • Strong CAD skills (NX preferred), kinematic analysis and optimization, and structural analysis using hand calculations and finite element methods.
  • Experience with FEA (modal, non-linear and linear, buckling, fatigue), GD&T and tolerance stack-ups, and mechanical materials selection.

Nice to have

  • Experience with UAVs, aircraft, or robotic systems; familiarity with electro-mechanical actuators.
  • Proficiency in FMEA, DOE, and root cause analysis; hands-on machine shop or mechanic experience; or relevant testing experience.

Pay

USD 200,000–310,000 per-year-salary; base salary
