3+ years building robotic, mechatronic, or controls systems.

About the job

Build and deploy robotics hardware, capture rigs, and software that produce synchronized, quality-checked physical AI datasets at partner sites.

What you'll do

  • Design, bring up, calibrate, and maintain robot capture systems, sensors, and teleoperation stations.
  • Develop drivers, ROS/ROS2 integration, recording, logging, and capture-time QA; troubleshoot hardware and software failures in deployments.
  • Create repeatable build and operating documentation, and establish hardware architecture and engineering standards for the physical AI team.

What they ask for

  • 3+ years building robotic, mechatronic, or controls systems; background in robotics, EE, ME, or similar.
  • Experience deploying systems beyond the lab and hands-on robot integration and troubleshooting across firmware, wiring, and application code.
  • Production-quality Python and C++, fluency in Linux and ROS/ROS2, and practical electronics troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to work in person at the San Francisco HQ; roles require onsite work five days per week.

Nice to have

  • Controls, teleoperation or robot-policy data collection, or multi-camera calibration and sensor synchronization experience.
  • CAD or PCB design experience; early-stage startup experience.

Tools

Python, C++, Rust, Linux, ROS/ROS2, CAN, serial, USB

AI focus

Produce physical AI training datasets, including data used to train robot policies.
