Senior Engineering Manager, Protect

What you'll do

• Lead team building, organizational design, hiring, performance management, and career development across multiple engineering squads.
• Set architectural strategy and oversee delivery of scalable, fault-tolerant platform services, operational practices, and engineering standards.
• Partner with cross-functional teams and senior leaders to turn member needs and business goals into technical solutions and communicate roadmaps and system health.

What they ask for

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field plus 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years in engineering management; OR a related technical master’s degree plus 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years in engineering management.
• Track record delivering zero-to-one products and platform capabilities from concept through production rollout with active users.
• Expertise in distributed systems design, including resilient microservices, API contracts, consistency, idempotency, and failure modes.
• Familiarity with JVM-based stacks and modern cloud-native infrastructure; demonstrated technical depth, cross-functional leadership, communication, and team mentorship.

Nice to have

• Experience in FinTech, InsurTech, consumer insurance, or regulated financial ecosystems.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and streaming platforms.
