About the job

Designs and verifies digital hardware and high-speed circuit card assemblies for spacecraft power-beaming systems and Star Catcher’s orbital power grid.

What you'll do

  • Develop digital hardware and high-speed PCB designs throughout the CCA design lifecycle, from requirements through integration and test.
  • Design mixed-signal assemblies using processors, microcontrollers, FPGA/CPLD, and memory; support board layout and compute module integration.
  • Perform design analysis and verification, and support board bring-up, debugging, and component selection.

What they ask for

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in digital hardware design, FPGA-based systems, or high-speed digital PCB design.
  • Experience designing with processors, microcontrollers, FPGA/CPLD, and memory devices (DDRx, SRAM, ROM, Flash).
  • Familiarity with FPGA/SoC platforms and toolchains; working knowledge of SI/PI simulation and timing analysis tools.

Nice to have

  • Exposure to backplane architectures, radiation-tolerant design practices, or spacecraft data bus standards.
  • Experience with Altium Designer or equivalent EDA tools, high-speed memory interfaces, or MATLAB/Python for analysis or test automation.

Tools
