Build and operate reliable, scalable data systems, pipelines, and domain models supporting Strava’s analytics, data science, and business needs.
What you'll do
- Design, operate, and improve data ingestion and transformation systems across the data lake and warehouse.
- Develop reusable data engineering tools, data models, and workflows for data quality, governance, privacy, and GDPR requirements.
- Improve data platform reliability, observability, performance, scalability, and cost in collaboration with partner teams.
What they ask for
- 3–5+ years of professional experience in data engineering, data infrastructure, software engineering, or a related field, including ownership of production data systems.
- Strong expertise in SQL and data modeling for large-scale analytical systems.
- Experience building and operating ETL/ELT or data processing systems, and developing reusable pipeline tooling or abstractions.
- Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language; experience with modern data warehouse or data lake architectures, data quality, governance, and cloud infrastructure.
Nice to have
- Experience with Kafka, Flink, Kubernetes, open table formats, data catalogs and lineage systems, schema management, CDC, or data engineering developer platforms.
