Leads the design and development of automated reel-to-reel manufacturing equipment for processing superconducting magnets, from prototypes through industrial production.
What you'll do
- Design reel-to-reel machine hardware and controls, including web handling, tension control, winding, and in-line process modules.
- Scope electromechanical equipment and inspection systems for fragile superconducting tape, and guide manufacturing and design teams.
- Manage equipment vendors and integrators and improve manufacturing throughput, yield, and reliability.
