What you'll do
- Develop and execute allocation plans with technical leads, adapting to changing demand and resources.
- Investigate utilization and performance, identify ways to improve scheduling, workload placement, and productive use of compute.
- Teach researchers to plan compute needs and develop guidance, examples, and tools that make allocation decisions more transferable.
What they ask for
- Experience making consequential resource allocation or capacity decisions in a complex computing environment, with ownership of tradeoffs and outcomes.
- Strong technical understanding of distributed systems, machine learning infrastructure, or high-performance computing.
- Demonstrated ability to improve useful output from limited resources and explain the alternatives considered.
- Ability to teach complex technical ideas clearly through explanations and practical examples.
Nice to have
- Experience owning compute allocation at an AI research lab or an organization with substantial shared computing resources.
- Familiarity with GPU clusters, distributed training, scheduling, and workload placement.
