AI Safety Evaluation & Governance Product Manager Intern (TikTok-Platform Responsibility-Feed Safety) - 2027 Summer

What you'll do

• Design evaluation plans and build high-quality ground-truth datasets for AI safety models.
• Analyze model performance statistically and translate findings into model improvements with algorithm teams.
• Communicate governance standards and evaluation results, and improve evaluation processes as models and policies evolve.

What they ask for

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or master's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Public Policy, or a closely related quantitative field.
• Solid grasp of applied statistics, including sampling, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, and distribution analysis.
• Foundational understanding of AI/ML, including classification, NLP, LLMs, and precision/recall.
• Ability to communicate in both English and Chinese.

Nice to have

• Experience in Trust & Safety, AI/ML product, model evaluation, or policy-related work; prompt engineering, LLM-based evaluation, or evaluation datasets.
• Familiarity with safety challenges, AI governance, computational social science, or advanced experimental design and statistical modeling.
