Machine Learning Scientist Intern (TikTok-Recommendation) - 2027 Start (PhD)

What you'll do

• Develop recommendation systems and machine learning solutions for product challenges, including content understanding, LLMs, robustness, and fairness.
• Optimize the full-stack ML pipeline, from algorithm design to system infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on product strategies and intelligent solutions for global markets.

What they ask for

• Currently pursuing a PhD in computer science, machine learning, or a similar field.
• Good knowledge of theoretical and empirical research methods for addressing research problems.
• Experience with at least one popular deep learning framework and familiarity with deep neural network architectures.

Nice to have

• Research experience in applied machine learning, ML infrastructure, large-scale recommendation systems, or market-facing ML products; strong first-author publications in leading AI conferences or journals.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Python, and shell programming, with understanding of data structures and algorithm design; internship experience in an AI research organization.
