Policy Manager, Search - Trust and Safety

What you'll do

• Assess potential harms and safety risks for Search products and features, including through pre-launch impact assessments.
• Write and maintain policies for search indexing, ranking, and AI features; work with product and engineering teams to implement policy rules.
• Evaluate enforcement accuracy, false positives, and algorithmic bias, and serve as policy authority for high-stakes search escalations.

What they ask for

• 5+ years of experience in product policy, trust and safety, legal tech, regulatory compliance, or content moderation strategy at a technology company.
• Experience drafting or enforcing policies for Large Language Models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or multimodal search systems.
• Ability to translate policy concepts into product requirements and lead complex cross-functional technical initiatives.
• Experience evaluating ambiguous trade-offs among free expression, user safety, and product quality; drafting formal policies and analyzing enforcement data.

Nice to have

• Understanding of search architecture, information retrieval, content ranking, or generative AI models.
• Familiarity with global internet governance, freedom of speech laws, and international human rights standards.
