About the job

Builds unified data infrastructure for multimodal foundation models and large-scale recommendation, search, and advertising systems, improving training and inference efficiency and reducing costs.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement offline and real-time data architecture for large-scale recommendation systems.
  • Build scalable streaming Lakehouse systems for feature pipelines, model training, and real-time inference.
  • Develop and own distributed storage and processing components, including file formats, stream compaction, and metadata management.

What they ask for

  • Completing or recently completed a PhD in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience building large-scale distributed systems, preferably in storage, stream processing, or ML infrastructure.
  • Understanding of Apache Flink internals and hands-on experience with state management, connectors, or UDFs.
  • Familiarity with modern Lakehouse technologies, especially incremental ingestion, schema evolution, and snapshot isolation.

Nice to have

  • Experience designing and optimizing Flink + Paimon architectures for unified batch/stream processing.
  • Familiarity with feature storage and training data pipelines integrated with PyTorch.

Tools

Apache Flink, Apache Paimon, Iceberg, Delta Lake, Hudi, PyTorch

AI focus
