About the job
Leads the architecture and development of scalable, high-fidelity vehicle models and simulation systems for autonomous-truck validation, safety certification, and reinforcement-learning training.
What you'll do
- Own vehicle-model and simulation architecture; develop truck dynamics models and closed-loop simulation platforms.
- Define statistical validation metrics, robustness tests, and system-level verification strategies for safety claims and large-scale testing.
- Partner with autonomy teams and vendors, maintain model release and regression practices, and mentor engineers.
What they ask for
- Deep proficiency in C++, Python, ROS/ROS2, CMake, and Linux.
- Strong background in physics-based ground-vehicle modeling, including vehicle dynamics, tire models, and powertrain.
- Experience defining statistical validation metrics and robustness frameworks for formal safety claims.
- Bachelor's degree in a listed or related technical field plus 10+ years of relevant experience, or Master's plus 7+ years, or PhD plus 3+ years.
Nice to have
- Technical leadership in vehicle simulation; experience with truck, trailer, or heavy-vehicle models.
- Experience scaling closed-loop AV simulation; familiarity with scenario-based validation, sim-to-real correlation, or learned models in V&V.
