Develops and operates TRM’s petabyte-scale relational database serving layer, improving query performance, availability, cost efficiency, and operational automation.
What you'll do
- Tune queries, indexes, and schemas to keep customer-facing APIs fast and available.
- Automate routine database operations and validate changes before production; manage CDC pipelines and debug replication issues.
- Identify and deliver database cost and performance improvements, and help migrate workloads and prototype data stores.

- 5–8 years building and operating production PostgreSQL, including Citus, Aurora, AlloyDB, or equivalent distributed Postgres.
- Strong SQL optimization skills, including Explain Plans, CTEs, window functions, partitioning, index design, and distributed query-planner behavior.

- Daily use of AI coding tools and a track record of AI-assisted cost or performance improvements in production database systems.
