About the job

Own structural dynamics analysis for spacecraft mechanisms and actuation systems, from launch environments through on-orbit disturbance and pointing stability.

What you'll do

  • Develop and validate finite element models and perform structural dynamics analyses, including modal, vibration, shock, and frequency-response analysis.
  • Develop disturbance models and budgets, support dynamic test campaigns, and correlate model predictions with test data.
  • Provide design guidance, support reviews and qualification, and mentor junior engineers.

What they ask for

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with FEA tools for structural dynamics (NASTRAN, ANSYS, or equivalent).
  • Experience with modal analysis, random vibration, shock response spectrum (SRS), and frequency response analysis.
  • Ability to maintain or obtain TS//SCI clearance.

Nice to have

  • Master's degree.
  • Experience with spacecraft mechanism or actuation system dynamics, jitter analysis, and disturbance budgeting for precision pointing applications.
