Designs and operates Python backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that process large datasets for analytics and visualization products.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain backend services, data pipelines, and APIs for large-scale data processing.
- Develop Databricks workflows and optimize distributed processing, data quality, reliability, and observability.
- Contribute to architecture and technical planning; collaborate with other teams, mentor engineers, and lead code reviews.
What they ask for
- Strong proficiency in Python and deep experience with dataframes such as Pandas, PySpark, or Dask.
- Hands-on experience with big data processing and distributed systems; strong experience with Parquet and columnar data formats.
- Production experience using Databricks; understanding of data modeling, performance tuning, and memory optimization.
- Experience building and maintaining REST and/or gRPC APIs; strong debugging, testing, and problem-solving skills.
Nice to have
- Experience deploying systems on AWS or using infrastructure-as-code such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience with Docker or Kubernetes, CI/CD, streaming systems such as Kafka or Kinesis, or analytics, geospatial data, or data platforms.
