About the job

Own the plant design and application of nuclear instrumentation for a high-temperature gas-cooled reactor, from instrument selection and signal-chain design through qualification, testing, and commissioning.

What you'll do

  • Select and specify neutron flux, radiation monitoring, and nuclear-service process instrumentation; design signal chains and physical installations.
  • Lead equipment qualification, integration and verification testing, acceptance testing, calibration, loop checking, and commissioning.
  • Produce controlled engineering documentation, evaluate vendors, apply nuclear I&C codes and standards, and provide technical direction to junior engineers and contractors.

What they ask for

  • Bachelor's degree in Nuclear, Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in radiation detection systems, nuclear instrumentation, or precision analog instrumentation and measurement systems.
  • Hands-on experience with radiation detectors and their signal chains, including detector electronics, biasing, and low-level signal measurement.
  • Experience planning and leading integration, verification, or commissioning tests, including procedure development and formal reporting.

Nice to have

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license; advanced degree in nuclear engineering, physics, or a related field.
  • Experience with wide-range neutron flux channels, environmental and radiation qualification, reactor protection instrumentation, or harsh-environment instrumentation.
