Experience
5+ years of professional experience.

About the job

Builds production motion-planning and manipulation software that converts CAD geometry and manufacturing requirements into reliable trajectories for industrial robots.

What you'll do

  • Develop and integrate collision-free, process-constrained robot trajectories, including coordinated motion across manipulators and external axes.
  • Build calibration, simulation, visualization, log-replay, and regression-testing tools, and diagnose differences between planned and physical robot motion.
  • Commission and debug systems on physical robots with automation, mechanical, welding, and manufacturing engineers.

What they ask for

  • 5+ years of professional experience developing robotics software, motion-planning systems, or manipulation algorithms.
  • Strong modern C++ skills and knowledge of rigid-body transformations, coordinate frames, 3D geometry, and forward and inverse kinematics.
  • Experience developing motion-planning or trajectory-generation systems for robotic manipulators, including collision detection and constrained Cartesian motion.
  • Experience debugging software on physical robotic systems; willingness to work on-site and spend significant time with hardware.

Nice to have

  • Experience with industrial robot manufacturers, ROS 2 and ROS-Industrial, or robotics planning frameworks such as MoveIt 2, Tesseract, or OMPL.
  • Experience with external axes, continuous IK, calibration, sensor integration, simulation, or process-constrained robotics.

Tools

C++, ROS 2, ROS-Industrial, MoveIt 2, Tesseract, OMPL, TrajOpt, Descartes

AI focus

The company uses AI in its broader robotics and manufacturing work, but this role's stated duties do not specify AI development.
