About the job

Architects and builds real-time, centimeter-accurate vehicle localization and state-estimation systems for autonomous vehicles, including in GPS-denied environments.

What you'll do

  • Design and optimize state-estimation algorithms that fuse data from multiple sensors.
  • Develop real-time, low-latency Rust code and mathematical models for localization.
  • Evaluate system accuracy, integrity, and fault tolerance in simulation and on physical test tracks.

What they ask for

  • Deep expertise in probabilistic robotics, state estimation, and 3D geometry.
  • Experience building and optimizing SLAM systems, including point-cloud registration.
  • Hands-on experience processing and fusing physical sensor data; experience deploying state-estimation algorithms on real-world robots or autonomous vehicles.
  • Strong systems programming skills in modern C++ and/or Rust, and proficiency in Python.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with GTSAM, Ceres Solver, or g2o.
  • Experience with learned localization or high-speed highway autonomous driving.

Pay

$141,000 - $242,000 USD (base salary)

Tools

Rust, C++, Python, IMU, LiDAR, Radar, GNSS, GTSAM

AI focus

May apply deep learning and AI/ML models to improve state estimation and feature matching (nice to have).
