Principal Software Engineer, Onboard Field Response

What you'll do

• Lead analysis and response to novel, rare, or unexpected field events; participate in on-call rotations.
• Improve onboard software architecture, robustness, and debuggability; harden software and develop response playbooks and post-mitigation workstreams.
• Partner across the organization to improve engineering practices; may request, hire, and manage additional engineers.

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years leading large-scale production software systems, especially machine-learned systems.
• 5+ years as an organizational leader managing a group and partnering with other organizational leaders.
• Experience organizing and running on-call rotations; excellent influence without authority skills.

Nice to have

• Experience leading hybrid hardware/software production systems or teams working on modern deep ML / large-scale models.
• Track record of bringing about change in 1000+ person engineering organizations.

$349,000 — $431,000 USD (base salary)
