About the job
Improves the safety and quality of Waymo Driver operations by integrating AI/ML tools into issue discovery, triage, and quality assurance workflows.
What you'll do
- Partner with Engineering to design, test, and deploy ML and generative AI tools; use their insights to identify emerging issues, risks, and edge cases.
- Create operational policies and SOPs for AI-enabled workflows, and perform quality checks on human- and AI-generated outputs.
- Advise stakeholders and vendor teams, identify tooling issues, and provide requirements and user testing support for new features.

- Competency supporting machine learning development lifecycle phases, including preparation, training, validation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Experience with ML testing and validation, including dataset quality assurance, bias detection, edge-case testing, and statistical performance evaluation.
- Ability to learn and implement new concepts and proprietary tools; strong understanding of driving rules and regulations.
Nice to have
- Experience with offshore teams or multiple local operations hubs; basic SQL querying.
- Competency in LLM / transformer models, and / or ML for robotics domain experience.
