About the job

Leads the design, development, evaluation, and deployment of LiDAR and cross-sensor 3D sensing systems for autonomous vehicles.

What you'll do

  • Define the architecture and technical roadmap for LiDAR and cross-sensor 3D sensing.
  • Develop calibration, registration, temporal alignment, and motion-compensation methods.
  • Productionise and evaluate 3D sensing systems, providing technical leadership and mentorship.

What they ask for

  • Significant experience developing robotics or autonomous-driving systems involving LiDAR, cameras, and 3D sensor data.
  • Strong experience in sensor calibration and registration, including LiDAR-to-camera alignment.
  • Understanding of 3D geometry, state estimation, and optimisation, including nonlinear least-squares methods or factor graphs.
  • C++ and/or Python software-engineering skills and experience taking robotics algorithms from prototype through production deployment.

Nice to have

  • Experience with LiDAR odometry, SLAM, or mapping systems.
  • Experience with metric-depth foundation models, learned feature correspondences, cross-modal registration, Gaussian splatting, dynamic-scene methods, or optimisation libraries such as GTSAM, Ceres Solver, or g2o.

Pay

$276,100 – $293,750 (base salary or total pay not specified)

Tools

LiDAR, C++, Python, GTSAM, Ceres Solver, g2o

AI focus

Develops 3D sensing capabilities that provide accurate sensor data for autonomous-driving perception, reconstruction, and ground-truth generation; desirable work includes metric-depth foundation models and learned approaches.
