About the job

Ports and optimizes Sensor Intelligence algorithms from validated reference implementations for reliable production execution on WHOOP embedded devices.

What you'll do

  • Translate and optimize Python, MATLAB, and other reference algorithms into production-quality C/C++ for embedded hardware.
  • Integrate algorithms with firmware, sensor pipelines, and platform services; resolve dependencies for on-device execution.
  • Verify equivalence with reference implementations, profile device performance, and build reusable testing and deployment tools.

What they ask for

  • BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong C/C++ development experience with embedded, real-time, or resource-constrained systems.
  • Experience porting, integrating, or optimizing signal-processing or machine-learning algorithms for embedded, MCU-based, or edge platforms.
  • Experience profiling and optimizing embedded software for runtime, memory, computational efficiency, and/or power.

Nice to have

  • Experience with physiological sensing, wearable devices, time-series sensor data, low-power systems, or establishing equivalence between reference and embedded implementations.
  • Experience with embedded optimization technologies or techniques such as DSP optimization, fixed-point implementation, quantization, model compression, ARM Cortex-M, DSPs, NPUs, RTOS environments, CMSIS-DSP/CMSIS-NN, or TensorFlow Lite Micro.

Pay

$150K – $215K (base salary)

Tools

C/C++, Python, MATLAB, ARM Cortex-M, CMSIS-DSP/CMSIS-NN, TensorFlow Lite Micro, RTOS

AI focus

The role asks for embracing and using AI tools in day-to-day tasks, with AI-assisted work held to the same quality standards as personal contributions; it does not specify building AI systems.
