Builds and tests first-of-their-kind hardware prototypes for aircraft and related systems, working with engineers and designers to turn early concepts into functional hardware.
What you'll do
- Fabricate, assemble, troubleshoot, modify, and repair mechanical, composite, and electromechanical prototype hardware.
- Instrument prototypes and support testing, diagnose failures, and improve subsequent builds.
- Document builds and findings, and provide feedback on manufacturability, assembly, serviceability, reliability, and design simplicity.
What they ask for
- Broad hands-on fabrication experience across several disciplines.
- Strong mechanical intuition and ability to troubleshoot unfamiliar electromechanical hardware.
- Ability to work from incomplete drawings or early concepts and independently determine how to build and test hardware.
- Experience building and troubleshooting prototype electrical systems, including sensors, wiring, actuators, motors, connectors, or measurement equipment.
Nice to have
